My triolet is on the way to the local county council meeting compliments of my writer friends who will attend and read it for me! Thank you to these activist writers! Note: I have uploaded an audio below! It’s literally 25 seconds! Have a listen.
Don’t Ban Books: A Triolet
Don’t ban books from our eyes.
Let us choose what to read.
To hide a story lies.
Don’t ban books from our eyes.
Don’t scheme to polarize
us or our growth impede.
Don’t ban books from our eyes.
Let us choose what to read.

The triolet form: for inquiring minds, the triolet dates to 14th century and is sometimes called a simple rondeau (as in round). The two line refrain is repeated and each line has six syllables. It’s fun to write!
Jackie, I love your Triolet, and listening to your recite! NaPoWriMo says 8 syllables, so I went with that first, then cut it to 6, and I liked it much better. Here’s mine:
Please don’t miss the magic!
Get close to what you see!
Doing less is tragic.
Please don’t miss the magic
woven in the fabric,
budding leaf and bouncing bee.
Please don’t miss the magic!
Get close to what you see!

You wrote a lovely triolet, Carolyn! A wonderful refrain: “please don’t miss the magic!” That’s good advice!
Yes, according to my musty old poetry handbook, over the centuries the number of syllables went from 8 to 6.
Thanks for posting!

I am just tuning in
And I want to begin
To compose poetry
I am just tuning in
Tell me if this is right
Before it becomes night
I am just tuning in
And I want to begin
